The Capt. Supt. of Police.

Regarding the offer of a reward for the arrest of the actual murderer.

Whereas on the 10th of this month Yeung Kui Wan, a teacher of English on the first floor of No.52 Gage Street was wounded by some unknown murderer who ascended to the floor and fired at him four shots in succession (which all hit him) and whereas he died the next morning, from which it is clear without doubt that he was murdered; and whereas it has not been possible to arrest the actual murderer, and I have already ordered the police to strictly and secretly make enquiries and arrest him and whereas it is on record that a reward of $500 for the arrest was offered on the 25th January-

Now because the actual murderer has not yet been arrested it is proper to add a further reward for his arrest

Therefore I issue this notice to let you all know that, with the exception of the actual murderer, to any person whatever who may know who killed Yeung Kui Wan and reports to the police with the result that the arrest is made and that after trial the man is convicted and sentenced, an additional $1500 will be immediately paid making altogether with the original reward $2000. If any person was a party to the deed but was not the actual murderer and dare give information he can in this way get rid of the guilt of the crime and obtain the reward as well as any one else and on the same conditions.

I shall certainly not eat my words.

This notice of a reward is genuine.
